DeNooyer Chevrolet Collision Center and Travelers Insurance Partner Up for Recycled Rides Program

DeNooyer Chevrolet and Travelers Insurance have partnered up for the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides Program. This program brings together auto professionals including insurers, technicians, paint suppliers, parts vendors, and many others to collaborate, fully repairing totaled vehicles, for deserving individuals and organizations. DeNooyer Chevrolet and Travelers Insurance are thrilled to announce the recipient of their collaborative Recycled Rides Program efforts is Joseph Miller!

Mr. Miller is a retired United States Air Force Veteran, serving from 1985 until 1989. He lost his eyesight due to diabetes, which resulted in a loss of income and unfortunately homelessness. His vision was restored with corrective surgery and Mr. Miller was referred to Vet House for housing. Vet House is a transitional program for male Veterans operated by the Veterans and Community Housing Coalition, offering support services. Mr. Miller has since become employed and moved into an apartment, but after his car broke down, unable to be repaired, Mr. Miller has not had reliable transportation for his work commute.

Miller will be presented with his new vehicle at a special luncheon event at Travelers Concierge, 2041 Central Avenue at 12:30pm this Wednesday (12/13/17). The lunch program includes a catered lunch sponsored by Enterprise Rent-A-Car and will include remarks from:

Steve Domino – Vice President at Travelers for the Upstate New York Claim Center

New York State Senator James Tedisco

New York State Senator Kathleen Marchione

Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh

Joel DeNooyer, owner of DeNooyer Chevrolet and Collision Center Manager Vince Navaretta

Glenn Jacobson, General Manager – LKQ/Keystone

Laurie Bangs, Regional Vice President of Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Dan Colvin, President of Saratoga County’s Veterans Business Council

Cheryl Hage-Perez, Executive Director at The Veterans & Community Housing Coalition who will introduce Miller.

Joseph Miller – recipient of the vehicle

Travelers Insurance donated the vehicle that the DeNooyer Chevrolet Collision Center then repaired, using parts donated by LKQ/Keystone, with labor donated by technicians and coordinated by Vince Navaretta, Collision Center Manager at DeNooyer Chevrolet. Collision technicians who donated their time to repair the vehicle include Ken Pienaizek, shop foreman; Ron Swald, estimator; Jim Artese, body man; Ray Drivas, bodyman and Jay Hill, painter.

DeNooyer Chevrolet is proud to partner with Travelers Insurance to give back to a Veteran who served and protected our country. We congratulate Joseph Miller on his new set of wheels and thank him for his service. We would also like to extend our gratitude to everyone involved in this project, the Recycled Rides Program for their efforts, and to all of those speaking at and coming to the luncheon to celebrate Mr. Miller.
