Frequently Asked Questions

GET AN ESTIMATE

Do I have to take my car to the auto body repair shop with the cheapest estimate?

A No. You do not have to go with the least expensive option for your vehicle repairs. In fact, we recommend that you only do business with a reputable collision center that is known for quality work. The DeNooyer Collision Center will work with your insurance company.

Where do I get a claim number?

A Your insurance company will issue a claim number when you report your accident. Bring your claim number with you when you come in to see the collision team.

How is it determined if my car is a total loss?

A Your car is considered a total loss only when the price of repairs exceeds the insurance company's determined value of your vehicle.

How long will the repairs to my vehicle take?

A The repair time depends on the extent of the damage to your vehicle. You will be given an estimate of the time it will take to complete the repairs to your vehicle.

Should I drive my car after an accident?

A This really depends on the type of damage to your vehicle. If your lights are not working, parts are rubbing on tires, or you feel uncomfortable or unsure of the safety of your vehicle, give us a call and we will arrange for towing.

Can I get a ride home or to work after I drop off my car?

A Yes, the DeNooyer Collision Center provides complimentary pickup and drop off service to anywhere in the Capital Region area including Albany, Colonie, Schenectady, and Clifton Park.

How can I get a rental car?

A Your insurance agent will be able to provide information on the steps you should take to get a rental car.

Can you match the factory paint color?

A If the paint on your vehicle is a factory color, we guarantee that it will be matched.

Is there a warranty on the repairs to my vehicle?

A Yes; The DeNooyer Collision Center guarantees all auto body repairs for as long as you own the vehicle.

Do I have to pay a deductible?

A Your deductible amount is determined by your insurance policy. Please check your insurance policy or call your agent.

Who do I pay my deductible to?

A If you aren't sure of your deductible amount, we recommend that you call your insurance agent. They can tell you how much your deductible is, whether they have waived your deductible, or if it will be your responsibility to pay the deductible when you pick up your vehicle.

What forms of payment do you accept?

A The DeNooyer Collision Center accepts cash, checks, and credit cards.
